Gilles-Marie Oppenord architectural and decorative drawings, ca. 1720- ca. 1735.

The album comprises 9 drawings traditionally attributed to Oppenord. Seven of them are of decorative elements for consoles, frames frontons and pedestals, mostly in brush, black ink and washes. One drawing is an elevation of the columned front of a large building drawn in pen, black ink and washes. The last one is a two floor section showing an interior wall with statues and vases in niches, a door and a staircase connecting the two levels. Most drawings are not signed. The last one is inscribed in the lower right corner covered with a big brown splash "Decoration de l...de Monsieur Le Marquis de la Vauvalliere//Bon a executer." The signature was erased, presumably in an attempt to delete the spot. The first drawing has the name "oppenord" written in brown ink on the paper used to mend the cut out drawing. On the bottom edge of the fifth drawing is written in brown ink "openor.", a misspelling hard to attribute to the artist.

1 v. (15 leaves) : drawings, brush and pen, black ink and washes ; 55 x 40 cm.
