Governor Cutler's correspondence is organized into two subseries, correspondence received by the Governor and letterbooks. The correspondence consists mainly of original letters sent directly to the Governor. The letterbooks contain copies of letters sent from the Governor's Office. Included are letters from citizens and private businesses asking for favors and offering advice; legal opinions; financial documents; administrative communications within the state; and exchanges with other states and with federal agencies.
