George Lawrence Forsythe Birdsong papers, 1834-1933.

The collection consists of the papers of George Lawrence Forsythe Birdsong from 1834 ot 1933. Letters are mostly to Birdsong from dog breeders and hunters throughout the United States; some are concerned with the breeding and fighting of game cocks. There are also first drafts of some of Birdsong's articles (some written under the pseudonym "Larry"), and addresses he made at Masonic meetings. Printed material includes news clippings and hunting magazines. Business documents include receipts, dogs' records, and check stubs. Family and plantation life are only incidentally represented in the collection.
