Letters of Rossetti to various artists, patrons, and others, including F. G. Stephens, C. A. Ionides, and Charles Rowley, mostly concerning his work. One letter to his framer Henry Murcott (n.d.) gives information on setting drawings with fixative, and two letters mention working from the model. In a letter to A. Macmillan (1866, unpublished) Rossetti comments on the sketches of C. F. Murray, noting the importance of working from nature to the quality of a picture. Included is a letter to John Miller (1857) describing his painting "St. Catherine", and a transcribed letter to Miller (1857), apparently in the possession of Princeton University, which also mentions that picture. Also included is a fragment of a letter (n.d.) mentioning John Ruskin. Organized chronologically.
