Letters sent, 1860, 1875.

The collection comprises 2 letters by William Wetmore Story. One is a farewell note sent to a Mrs. Holland on the eve of her departure from Rome. He is sure she will be back, "as every body comes back to Rome" (1860 May 1, Rome). The second letter is addressed to Miss Bischoffstein, to whom he had promised some verses. A 16 line poem intitled "In the Rain" is written on the verso, and signed (1875 Jan. 13, Rome).
