Benjamin Franklin Terry organized and served as first commander of The Eighth Texas Cavalry, a group of Texas volunteers for the Confederate Army, popularly known as Terry's Texas Rangers, in August of 1861. The regiment started immediately for Virginia but was redirected to Nashville and then to Bowling Green, Kentucky. George Washington Littlefield, born June 21, 1842 and died November 10, 1920, owned cotton plantation in Gonzales, Texas. Littlefield served in Civil War under Albert Sydney Johnson, (Terry's Rangers), rising to the rank of Major. Littlefield owned several ranches in Texas and New Mexico. In 1901 with his nephews, J.
