The Raoul Family Papers consist of over 100 years of correspondences and materials highlighting three Southern families, the Haskells, Pophams, and Raouls. The Raoul Family Papers are comprised of correspondences and materials that encompass three generations of Southern families. Centered on Gaston and Marion Haskell Raoul, and later William and Louisa "Kit" Cheves Popham Raoul, the collection also features many other members of the Raoul, Haskell and Popham families. The correspondences encompass 25 boxes and over 100 years. Beginning in 1889 with letters to and from the Haskell family and in 1901 with letters by the Raoul family, the correspondences feature world events such as wars and elections down to daily occurrences such as piano lessons and dating. Also featured in the collection are photographs, newspaper clippings, financial ledgers and books; all of which highlight the Haskell/Raoul families' public and private lives.
