William H. Masterson collection, 1966-1979.

Dr. William H. Masterson (1914-1983) was the president of the University of Chattanooga (1966-1969), and Chancellor, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1969-1973) following the merger into the UT System. He was also a history professor at UTC, from 1973-1979. The collection includes letters and certificates of congratulations on inauguration as UC President. Also included are notes from speeches given by Dr. Masterson for various university and community events as well as some university-related correspondence. Notecards of research material for his book, William Blount, are also included.

Masterson (1914-1983) was the president of the University of Chattanooga (1966-1969) and Chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1969-1973 following the merger of UC into the UT system.
