Thomas Ewing Dabney (1885-1969) was born in New Orleans, La., and educated at the University of the South and at Harvard College. After serving in the U.S. Diplomatic Service until 1912, Dabney turned to journalism, working as a reporter, feature writer and editor in Mississippi, Florida, New Mexico, and Louisiana.
