Letters written by Parker, 1858-1895, including six to Gen. John E. Smith, 1864-1868, discussing Parker's military activities, the impeachment of Andrew Johnson, and Gen. Grant's election campaign; one to S. M. Burroughs, 1858, concerning Indian rights to Kansas lands; and several to others about his attempts at farming, the Rev. Ely Stone, and an unidentified female author's work. Also, letters received by Parker, including one from Henry R. Schoolcraft, 2 Feb. 1853, regarding the condition of the Tonawanda Indians; one from John Fisk, 4 Apr. 1862, concerning recruitment of Indians by the Army; one from his sister Carrie Parker containing personal news; and several concerning Parker's petition to join the Knights of Freeport, Ill. Commandery No. 7. Includes a paper, unfinished, by Parker, entitled "Iroquois or Confederacy of the Five Nations", May 1848.
