Giles Mumford letter, 1781 November 6, to Thomas Mumford.

Giles Mumford, writing from New London, Connecticut, to his father, reported activities in the harbor when some individuals came to repossess items after the British burned the town in September 1781. Evidently Mr. Saltonstall was not considered eligible because he was not a "friend to his country".
