Celilo Falls Indian Relocation Project photographs collection [graphic], circa 1956.

Photographs depicting Celilo Falls on the Columbia River and the Celilo Falls Indian Relocation Project, collected by Barbara Mackenzie circa 1956. Mackenzie was director of the U.S. government project, which relocated Native Americans displaced by the construction of The Dalles Dam in eastern Oregon and Washington state. The photographs depict Native Americans receiving the new homes given to them by the project, as well as Celilo Falls before it was flooded as a result of the dam and the dedication of Celilo Park, which looks over the area which was once Celilo Falls. Some of the photographs are in color.
