Andrew Huntington papers, 1757-1836.

Correspondence and financial records of a Norwich, Connecticut merchant and deputy commissary during the Revolution. Includes letters from Jedeiah Huntington from the army camp at Rosbury, Mass. in 1776, requests for supplies and provisions, 1776-1778, the transport and care of French prisoners, and Huntington's petitions to the French government for reimbursement for his expenses. Commissary records include inventories and returns of provisions. Records of his merchant business include bills of lading, manifests, bills, receipts, notes and an account book. Among the vessels transporting his goods were the Ship London Packet, the Sloop Exchange, and the Brig Norwich Packet. Also includes correspondence and financial records of Andrew's father, Jabez Huntington, also a merchant in Norwich.
