Autograph letter signed : London, to Jane Clark, "Sunday" [1935-1964].

Thanking her for some roses; regretting that she had to put off her parties on Monday and Tuesday, noting that she was seized with one of the worst attacks of influenza she has ever had. Mentioning that the doctors will not allow her to get out of bed yet, but noting that she has plans to travel to Italy on the 24th.

Kenneth Clark was an art historian and a patron of the arts. He was born in London, and educated at Winchester and Trinity College, Oxford, where he gained a second class in modern history. In the autumn of 1925, art historian Bernard Berenson asked him to assist him in the revision of his corpus of Florentine drawings.
