Collection consists of correspondence and case records chiefly pertaining to a lawsuit brought against contractor Frank B. Gilbreth by the Medical Society of South Carolina. Lawsuit concerns a contract for the construction of Roper Hospital in Charleston (S.C.). There are also letters and case records relating to at least three related cases: John Holtje v. Medical Society of South Carolina; John R. Powell v. Medical Society of South Carolina; and the Waldmann Company v. Medical Society of South Carolina. Case records include arguments, briefs, a list of exhibits, court orders, sworn statements, copies of orders for delivery of building supplies, and an agreement (1905) between Frank B. Gilbreth and the Medical Society of South Carolina. Correspondents include attorney James Simons, Theodore G. Barker, Frank B. Gilbreth, C. Bissell Jenkins, Dr. R.S. Cathcart, and John R.
