Includes an unpublished book on American humor. Also contains Durant family papers (1.5 cu. ft.), 1829-1939, including correspondence, genealogical materials, photographs, scrapbooks/clippings, autograph albums, bibles, and memoirs. Much of the family material relates to Charles F. Durant (1805-1873) -- aeronaut, scientist, and author, including research notes on him by Agnes Flexner.
