The collection consists of personal and professional papers of Donald K. David documenting his work in private industry and as a professor and Dean of Harvard Business School. The bulk of the collection reflects David's work outside the School as president, executive and consultant of various corporations such as Aluminum Limited Corporation, General Electric, Ford Motor Company, American Maize Products Company and Standard Brands. Types of materials include legal documents, correspondence, reports, surveys, meeting minutes, stockholder reports, financial reports, and pension and retirement plan information; consulting records include correspondence, company reports, meeting minutes and financial information. The collection also includes material related to David's work with various government committees such as the Committee for Economic Development and the Office of Civilian Requirements; fund-raising speeches, commencement addresses and lectures on business administration, ethics and trends delivered while Dean of the Harvard Business School; and personal papers including correspondence and financial records.
