Typescript poem 'The victory' with subtitle 'Murwillumbah ... Sept 15th 1907-8'. Possibly written by George Essex Evans. Found in book 'a new star atlas for the library, school, and the observatory in twelve circular maps'. Book was donated by the family of George Essex Evans with his manuscripts. Accompanied by newspaper cuttings from the period 1922-1929, mostly relating to astronomy.

George Essex Evans was a poet, journalist and public servant, noted for his patriotic poems. He was mainly based in Queensland. From the description of Letter [manuscript]. 1900 February.
