Lane Copper was born in New Brunswick, NJ, on Dec.14, 1875; attended Rutgers College 1892-1896. After graduation, he briefly attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, then transferred to Yale University, where he received his Master's degree in English in 1898.
