Watson Robertson Sperry collection, 1892-1926

A collection of items about Watson Robertson Sperry. A native of New York, Sperry was a Yale graduate and later a writer for the Hartford Courant. The collection includes his Hartford Courant obituary, a photo of Sperry on a horse, a copy of the 55th anniversary report for the Yale class of 1871, and Sperry's appointment as U.S. Minister to Persia. Sperry, living in Delaware at the time, was appointed by President Benjamin Harrison in 1892.
