Collection of letters (3) related to Shelley's Adonais : Pisa and Rome, to various recipients, 1821 and 1878.

Collection consists of two letters from English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley to Claire Clairmont and Joseph Severn, as well as one letter from Severn to a Miss Halsam. All three letters concern Shelley's Adonais: An Elegy on the Death of John Keats, Author of Endymion, Hyperion, etc. Letters have been described individually in three separate catalog records; see related records for more information.

John Keats was an English poet and literary critic. John Keats, English poet, was born in London, England, on 29 or 31 Oct. 1795. He died of tuberculosis in Italy on 23 Feb. 1821. In 1810, Keats was articled to a surgeon, T. Hammond, in Edmonton for five years. The contract was broken in 1814 or 1815.
