Biography: Mary Jo Rathke received her undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Teresa and her masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She came to Stout as an instructor in 1959. For three of her years at Stout, Rathke was chair of the English Department. While at Stout, she developed program proposals in Industrial Communications, Technical Writing, and Communications Skills. She retired in 2000. Description: Most of the materials in this collection concern Rathke's tenure as chair of the English Department. Also included is information concerning her involvement in governance and course development.
