Oral history interview with Rev. Harold Patterson, 1996 November 21 / conducted by Robert J. Mayer. 1996.

This interview is one of a series dealing particularly with the controversy over the doctrine of Scripture in the Advent Christian Church. It is part of the background to Mayer's An account of the Advent Christian controversy over the Bible's inspiration (Thesis (D. Min.)--Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, 1997). Key ingredients in the debate were the relationship between Aurora College and Berkshire Christian College, between New England and the rest of the denomination, and the biennial general conference at Montreat, N.C., in 1964. Key personnel were Ray Beecroft, Polly Reed, Moses Crouse, Edwin K. Gedney, Lloyd Richardson, and David A. Dean. This interview relates particularly to the Board of Education and to two people, Ray Beecroft and Jack Thornton.
