One hundred twenty-three images, donated at two separate times, chiefly dealing with early Lawton, but also including photos of wagons at Medicine Creek (1901), Comanche County Courthouse (1938), aerial view of Lawton, Lawton firefighters and equipment, Medicine Park, Craterville Park, Indian police, Lawton football team (1907), Fort Sill (1910-1930s), airplane crash on Fort Sill, some Kiowa and Comanche Indians at Fort Sill, dedication of Parker Monument (1930), and Indian cemeteries; together with 356 images, chiefly AP photos, with a national and international flavor, including politicians and military figures, space flight, and disasters, with the inclusion of a few local images. Photographers represented include Wade Studio, Call's Studio, Morris Swett, and J.E. Markham.

Silver Horn was born circa 1860 to Agiati (Gathering Feathers) and Sa-Poodle (Traveling in the Rain) and was a member of the Kiowa Indian tribe of Oklahoma. His Kiowa name, Haungooah, refers to sunlight reflecting off a buffalo horn, making it gleam like a polished, white metal.[1] He was a well-known artist from the early reservation period who was one of the most respected and talented Plains Indian artists in his time.
