Papers contain correspondence, writings, diaries, datebooks and notes, family papers, financial material, clippings, memorabilia, International Federation of University Women and American Association of University Women papers, materials reflecting Cameron's interest in Asian history and art, biographical materials and legal documents, materials relating to the Cameron, Elliott, Appleby, and Lazier families, and photographs. Primarily concern her professional life as history professor, educator and administrator at Flora Stone Mather College, Milwaukee-Downer College, Reed College, and Mount Holyoke College. The correspondence also reflects Cameron's close friendship with Mount Holyoke history professor Mary Sumner Benson.
