Hermon Sackett papers, 1901-1922.

Hermon Sackett was a senior at Edinboro State Normal School in 1902. In 1909, he returned to his alma mater as a teacher. Here he remained until 1933. He taught French, Higher Mathematics, Latin and History. He was also Dean of Men and head of the Social Studies Department.

There are two spellings of Sackett's first name, Herman and Hermon. The Vance book vacillates between the two. The school catalogs list Hermon, but usually just H. Sackett. His own writings are usually H. Sackett. His own botany book contains both spellings. The weight of evidence favors Hermon over Herman and thus he is referred to here as Hermon.
