"An account of the late Negro insurrection which took place in the island of Barbados on Easter Sunday, April 14, 1816" comprises material from private letters and Barbados newspapers giving accounts of losses with names of owners of estates and Sir James Leith's proclamation denying that an order had been sent to the islands for the freeing of the slaves. Includes one color drawing. Bound together with John Poyer's 1808 publication, "The history of Barbados, from the first discovery of the island, in the year 1605, till the accession of Lord Seaforth, 1801."
