Winifred Gordon was born in Neb. on September 11, 1890 and graduated from the State Normal School, Greeley, Colo. (1910) and also earned a BA from Colorado State Teacher's College (1922). She worked as a Home Economics teacher in Denver for 40 years. She restored what would later become known as the Gordon House in Central City, Colo.
