Financial accounts, 1840-1850.

In retirement from business and public office, Armstrong records his personal finances, including the value of his property and real estate holdings, income from named stocks and bonds and rental income, cash accounts, debts, taxes paid, annual household expenses (including wages for servants), and monies to charitable groups. With Phillips Academy accounts, 1840-1, "invitations to dine," 1844, and European travel expenses.
