Margaret M. Mogeau letter : San Bernardino, Calif., to Mr. R.E. Bush, Berkeley, Calif, 1896 April 20.

Brief handwritten note on two half pages of official letterhead stationery of a county superintendant of schools to a man regarding a possible role in the suffrage movement in San Bernardino, California. Written at the conclusion of "the Woman's Suffrage Convention" Mogeau notes there is intense interest in the subject of suffrage and adds, "No, we do not have a Populist newspaper now. There is much interest in Silver." She declines his offer because " To be candid, I am a very poor politician." Also includes the original official letterhead envelope of Mogeau containing a color reproduction of a "Visit San Bernardino County, Cal." tourism advertisement depicting a branch of oranges and the slogan, "Produces the finest oranges & lemons in the world."
