In this interview Bob Wilkins (b. 1927) discusses growing up in Memphis, Tennessee; entering the military as a pilot in the Air Force during WWII; working in Montana oil fields near Wolf Point then work with police force including position as chief of police in 1950s; work with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1960s; work for W.R. Grace starting in 1966; differences in communities of Wolf Point and Libby; community and social activities; union activities for Local 361; Libby Dam and regulation; work with Democratic Party; air and water quality; safety inspection and monitoring in 1979 at Zonolite; worker knowledge of dangers of tremolite; community uses of vermiculite; W.R. Grace support of community projects; union strike in 1978; his asbestosis diagnosis; and his thoughts about the community response to the health issues surrounding asbestos. (OH 2004)
