Ranging in date from 1865 to 1947, the Jacobs Family photographs collection includes photographs of Isaac and Ralph Jacobs, their families, and homes; employees and facilities at the Oregon City Manufacturing Company (the Jacob's woolen goods business); the Park School in Portland, Oregon; and Oregon City, Oregon. An 1896 album, containing mostly cyanotype prints, includes family photographs of recreational activities including canoeing, cycling, fishing, golf, and swimming at several locations including Gearhart and Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast and in Portland. An 1881-1947 album contains photographs of the exterior and interior of the Ralph Jacob's family residence and his daughters, Hilda, Miriam and Frances, in California. Other family members and individuals shown in the collection include Alfred Jacobs Gilbert, Caston Jacobs Gilbert, Gershon Jacobs Gilbert, Morton Jacobs Gilbert, Sadie Gilbert, Ruby Jacobs Goss, Adolph Jacobs, Clara Brooks Jacobs, Flora Kalisher Jacobs, Josephine Jacobs Blum, and Grace Meier. Photographers include Frank G. Abell, Jose B. Buchtel, Arnold Gerthe, Samuel B. Graham, Elmore C. Grove, Preston M. Hart, Clarence L. Huntington, Ervin Jordan, Alfred A. Monner, Silas Selleck. Photography studios include Abell and Son, Buchtel and Stolte, Elite Photographic Studio, and Thomas Joop and Company.
