Nineteenth century handwritten copies of excerpt from the diary of Martha Dangerfield Bland Blodgett Corran. The copies were made for Charles Campbell, a Virginia historian, who published it in the Petersburg, Va. Republican (1846, Apr. 20) under the title "Experts from the Diary of an old Virginia Lady, 1795-1796."

Charles Campbell (1807-1876) was born on 1 May 1807, in Petersburg, Virginia, the firstborn child of parents John Wilson Campbell (d. 1842), and Mildred Walker Moore Campbell. Martha Dangerfield was wife of Theodorick Bland, Jr. (1741-1790). After Bland's death, she married Nathaniel Blodget, a merchant who died in 1794. Twice widowed, Martha married a French sea captain Patirck Corran (Curran) in 1798. She died in 1804 in France.
