Jean Souverbie (1891-1981) was a French painter known for his sensuous depictions of Classical subject matter. Influenced by Pierre Bonnard, Edouard Vuillard, and the Cubist painter Georges Braque, he explored his interest in Neoclassical ideals and Greek sculpture throughout his monumental nudes, seascapes, and still lifes.
