In this interview Delano Drury (b. 1934) discusses his parents early lives in Montana during the Depression and World War II; moving to Libby in the 1940s; work in Blister Rust Camps in 1950s; his military service in the 1950s; community life in 1940s and now; community activities; role of bars and saloons in Libby; weather, air and water quality; his work for J. Neils Lumber; working with creosote; injuries sustained while working as a top loader (loading treated telephone poles); work as planer, grader and mill wright in stud mill; various big equipment used in timber industry; asbestosis in his family; EPA cleanup and impact of Superfund designation; and resulting divisions in community.
