Frank Storer Wheeler letter and memoranda regarding Niagara River lands, 1923 Jan 31.

Letter to Peter A. Porter from Wheeler, enclosing copies of the petition of Augustus Porter to purchase Goat Island, with a report on the petition presented in Assembly by Simeon DeWitt, surveyor general, Feb. 1811. Also, notice of sale, Dec. 1804, of the lands belonging to the State lying along the Niagara River between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie (the Mile Strip), and lands parallet to the Niagara River opposite Queenston; an act authorizing the sale of the ferry lot at Black Rock to Peter B. Porter, Mar. 1815; act to lease the right of portage around Niagara Falls to Benjamin Barton and Augustus Porter, Apr. 1815; and the petition of Augustus Porter for an act of incorporation of the Niagara Canal & Mfg. Co., 1828. Handwritten memoranda were written by "Aunt Libbie"; typewritten copies by Frank Storer Wheeler.
