Edward L. Cox letter [manuscript], 1861 July 3.

Cox writes to Miss Ellen and Miss Porter Jones of Pedlar Mills, Virginia, about life in camp and teases Miss Ellen continually about a soldier named Silas and the fact that she is just "sweet sixteen." He notes that he expects there will be a fight very soon and mentions several soldiers of the 19th Virginia by name.
