This collection consists of an 1849 diary of the Presbyterian minister Hezekiah Hanson that includes sermon topics, weather, travel, ministerial functions, and other activities. The collection also includes a small family Bible inscribed by Benjamin Roney and Sarah Ann Boden, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and lists family birth and death information from 1813 to 1864.

Hezekiah Hanson, born in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, was a Presbyterian minister at the Duncannon (formerly Petersburg) Presbyterian Church, Perry County, Pennsylvania, 1849-1856. From 1851 through 1856 he also administered the Millerstown Presbyterian Church, before moving to Oquawka, Illinois, in 1857, where he remained for some twenty-five years. Benjamin Roney and Sarah Ann Boden married in 1832, at Perry County, Pennsylvania. Their daughter Elizabeth married Hezekiah Hanson in 1852. ...
