A collection of family papers including account books, school notebooks, diaries, commonplace books, travel journals, correspondence and other items of the Talcott family. The earliest pieces are Orpha North (Hart)'s school notebook from Berlin, Connecticut, 1808, and a memorandum of goods given by Dr. Samuel Hart to his daughter Lucinda upon her marriage to William H. Smith in 1842. A cookbook of Lucinda's is also in the collection. There are diaries of John B. Talcott, George Talcott's father, and an autograph album of his mother's, Jane Croswell Goodwin Talcott. Other items of John B. Talcott are club papers. Contains notes and schoolwork of Theodora Talcott Slater, daughter of May Churchill and George Sherman Talcott. The notes are from classes in psychology, hygiene, and art. Annie Louise Smith, daughter of Lucinda and William, attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington. Correspondence in the collection was sent to members of the Churchill and Talcott families. Travel diaries and address books in the collection belonged to George Talcott, including one from a trip to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Some of George Talcott's account books are from his time at Yale. Additionally, the collection contains family history.
