In this interview Robert Beagle (b. 1943) discusses his childhood in Ural, Montana; activities for teenagers in the 1950s in Libby; his father's ill health due in part to working in the mines in Butte; working for St. Regis Lumber Company in 1960s; fishing, hunting, hiking in the area; gardens in the area; political affiliation with Democratic Party; saloons and night life in Libby area; contributions of St. Regis, Zonolite, and railroads to the community; air and water quality over the years; building track for high school (company used tailings); community use of vermiculite from tailings piles; getting work with Zonolite bagging and hauling vermiculite; union activities (Operating Engineers Local 361); strike in 1981; mill safety issues; asbestosis victums; W.R.
