WPA State and Local Historical Records collection, 1936-1942.

WPA surveys are descriptions and recollections of various historical events as well as documentation in the possession of an individual or organization at the time of the interviews, 1936-1939. Surveys are sorted by county by the owner's address. Counties included are Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Hillsdale, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Saint Joseph, and Van Buren. Also included are WPA personnel records, travel vouchers and instructional material. Additional surveys include Alphadelphia Association records, church records, Grand Army of the Republic records, and newspaper records.
