Janeway, Pediatrician to the World's Children. Charles Alderson Janeway (1909-1981) (Johns Hopkins, M.D. 1934) was Thomas Morgan Rotch Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and physician-in-chief at Children's Hospital from 1946 to 1974. During this time Children's Hospital was the largest academic pediatric service in the U.S., and Janeway was instrumental in developing its present tertiary care system.
