The Rocci G. Pisano collection consists of faculty service awards and commemorative flags collected by Dr. Rocci G. Pisano, Professor Emeritus at San José State University. After teaching biology at San José State for thirty years, Dr. Pisano dedicated the later half of his life to public service by presiding over many public works committees, including the commission for the celebration of the United States Bicentennial. This collection represents Dr. Pisano's legacy as a professor and a contributor to the development of the city of San José. This collection is arranged into one series: Series I: Awards and flags, 1957-1992.

Dr. Rocci G. Pisano (1911-2003) was an Associate Professor of Biology at San José State University from 1946 to 1976. He received degrees from Santa Clara University, San Jose State University, U.C. Davis, and he received his doctorate in Education from Stanford University in 1954. In addition to teaching, he also served as a faculty advisor t́o the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. Pisano's dedication to the community is reflected in his commitment to nonprofit foundations. ...
