Dyar T. Hinckley diary, 1784-1785.

Daily record kept by a student at Yale College, in which he noted the Sunday preacher and the main points of the sermon, other sermons and lectures he attended, class debates, examinations, and the weather. Hinckley was born in Lebanon, Connecticut, and spent most of his life there. Although he studied for the ministry, he preferred teaching.

The Linonian Literary Society was founded in 1753. All undergraduates were allowed to be members of the Linonian Society.
