Charles Donnison Roper, a midshipman in the British Navy, kept this logbook of the H.M.S. Camperdown, H.M.S. Blenheim, H.M.S. Achilles, and H.M.S. Wanderer. Entries for the Camperdown date January 1-March 29, 1894, as the ship traveled from Smyrna to Malta. Entries for the Blenheim date November 15, 1894-February 24, 1895, when the ship traveled from Malto to Gibraltar, Portsmouth, Halifax, and back to Gibraltar. Entries for the Achilles date February 25-March 9, 1895, when the ship traveled from Gibraltar to Portsmouth. Entries for the Wanderer date March 10-June 13, 1895, when the ship traveled from Portsmouth to Portland. Seven drawings are inserted in the volume.
