Milton Fingerman papers, 1960-1963.

This collection consists of professional papers of Milton Fingerman, relating to his monograph, The control of chromatophores. Included are typed and handwritten correspondence, forms requesting permissions, drafts, printer's copies, plates, and a galley proof. The correspondence between Dr. Fingerman and Pergamon Press documents the pace of scientific publishing of the era.

Milton Fingerman, an academic endocrinologist, author, and teacher, was born in Boston, and attended Boston College as an undergraduate. He received his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University. After serving in the Army, Dr. Fingerman joined the faculty at Tulane University in 1954, retiring from its Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2000.
