Autograph letter signed, 1949 Nov. 16.

Personal letter addressed to T.B.L. Webster thanks him for being the first to inform and congratulate Rumpf on becoming a member of the Hellenic Society, London. Rumpf inquires who else was appointed. Rumpf discusses an Attic vase which he worked on while he was professor at the university in Halle. He rejects the current interpretation that the picture could represent Orest and Aigisth, but rather thinks it depicts a transport of prisoners of war. Rumpf also refers to a separatum from the Rosi Krater sent to him by Sir John.
