A pioneer in microcomputers and portable computers, Lee Felsenstein received a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972. He worked as an electronic design engineer starting before graduation, and designed several early personal computers and peripherals in 1975 and 1976. He was a co-founder of The Community Memory Project, a non-profit which developed the first public-access information-exchange system beginning in 1972.
