Palmer family papers, 1865-1948.

This collection consists primarily of documents, military records and publications for Roy M. Palmer. These include squadron orders, flight records, and his individual combat record listing his bombing missions, 1944-1945. Additional Roy M. Palmer items include his diary, March-April 1945; flight school and related Army Air Corps training manuals, 1941-1944; and a scrapbook of articles written by Ernie Pyle while he was a correspondent in the Pacific Theater, 1945. The collection also contains a significant number of his artifacts including military buttons, insignias and patches as well as Japanese and Chinese currency. Other items in the collection include Carl Klinefeldt's Civil War discharge, 26 June 1865, and Roy W. Palmer's honorable discharge, November, 1918, and his partial disability pension claim, 1939.
