Holograph signed. Jackson orders Cass, Secretary of War, to follow recommendations of Maj. Gen. Alexander Macomb and Brig. Gen. John E. Wool that a "Capt. Baxley" be restored to the army for general court martial. Accompanied by typwritten transcript (3 paged leaves) and engraved portrait of Jackson, "From the original painting by Chappel," New York, Johnson, Wilson, & Co., 1870.
